As promised, I said I would come back one last time if/when I got a response from Gaming....the response came this morning, here it is:

"Mr. O’Neal,

I am in receipt of your e-mail in regards to the Silver Strike Tokens dated October 9, 2008.

All Silver Strike Tokens are manufactured by Sunshine Minting, Inc. In March 0f 2008, the Sunshine Minting, Inc. requested a waiver to change the silver content/weight of the Silver Strike Tokens to a brass clad metal. The purpose of that request was to combat the increasing price of silver.

In May of 2008, the Gaming Control Board approved the request.
