Just got back from Vegas for the weekend of 10-18-08. Happened to stop by and see the Strike Machine carousel in the middle of PLANET HOLLYWOOD. Sat down and played $20 and got one strike with about $4.25 left. GOT NOTHING ELSE from the machine. I feel lucky to have gotten the strike for under $20.
The condition of all machines (4 I think with different strikes in each machine) was very very poor. The reels looked very dirty and the decals with the symbols looked like they were about to peel off. Very sad looking. Certainly not in a condition to encourage novice collecters or the occassional collector.
I guess with the state of affairs in strike collecting I should be thankful that strike machines at all were present in the casino.
Who would be responsible for the maintenace of these slot machines?
Also my wife and I are arguing about the actual machine we were playing. It was a single line 25 cent machine for sure. WAS it a 2 coin or 3 coin machine? Do 2 coin strike machines exist?
