You are correct Dennis, Skip and John ...

I was the President of CC & GTCC when the first Silver Strike organizational meeting was held and I was one of the first to fill out an application and pony up the dues at that meeting. In fact, it was I who invited the Silver Strikers Club to hold their first organizational meeting in conjuction with the CC & GTCC Convention.

When I received my membership card, I questioned why I had such a high number (CHSS-121) and the response I received back was that the numbers were assigned randomly and not in order of applications received. There was absolutely NO mention of Charter Membership being restricted to the first 50 applications. When I told the club president at the time that it really didn't matter what number I received, she replied that it must have mattered otherwise I would not be asking the question.

It really doesn't matter to me what my membership number is... but I disagree that I'm not considered now not being a Charter member because the CH numbers were restricted to the first 50. I've always use my Silver Striker's membership number as CHSS-121.

To Dan ... yes, you may use this post in the next issue of the club newsletter if you wish.
