John; I don't know to whom you spoke at the convention registration desk, but your comment that the silver strikers card "was no good" offends me. Perhaps you have taken an innocent comment out of context?

For the benefit of those who were not in attendance at the club's Annual International Convention this past June, those persons who could not produce a CC & GTCC membership card seeking admission to the convention floor, or whose names were not on the current CC & GTCC membership roster were required to pay the NON CC & GTCC admission fee. It had nothing to do with pre-registration or simply showing up at the door. With the current requirement that Chapter Members no longer have to belong to CC & GTCC, it is even more difficult to determine who is a CC & GTCC member and who is not. The hard working CC & GTCC volunteers who are staffing the Convention Registration Desk are not required to look up every name of every member who might belong to a particular Chapter, but does not produce a CC & GTCC membership card or whose name does not appear on the CCGTCC roster.

As for the lack of articles in the club magazine.... if Silver Strikers would like to see more articles regarding their collecting specialty, then it is up to SILVER STRIKERS to submit those article for publication. Articles having to do with the Silver Strike hobby should not depend soley on President Waterbury's timely magazine reports. Other Chapter Members can also submit articles on strikes. It takes a minimum effort on the part of those who seek this valuable publicity and exposure on behalf of their respective specialty organizations.

I believe that the International club (CC & CTCC) has been very supportive of the Silver Strikes Chapter. I would be very disappointed if your suggestion that strikers "go it alone" is seriously considered. If "Strikers" don't submit publicity releases now .... to a very capable Magazine Editor and Assistant Editor .... I don't see how anything will be improved by "going it alone" ... nor would the Chapter received any wider potential recognition "going it alone" than what is possible under the larger CC & GTCC umbrella.

Just my personal viewpoint ... and as a Silver Strike Chapter member myself, I would hope that I am not alone in that view.
