Just returned from a hectic great three day extravaganza in Las Vegas. On this trip I focused on getting strikes with my limited $400 bank roll. I found that being nice and sweet to women cashiers, really had it's advantages. A few cashiers sold me strikes from the cage, even though machines were in use. I understand this is against Nevada gaming laws, so se la vie! A very nice woman at the Rio went through every rack of strikes, even what they had in the vault to find the one Rio Rita w/hotel they had in stock. The rest of the hundreds she checked were Masquerades.
My experiences with machines was also favorable, being able to win a strike or two with an investment of face value or less on most machines.
The highlight of my trip was the $40 Caesars machine. I ended up winning two of those beauties. One for $7, the other for $13! I figured I should be happy with the two and not tempt the hands of fate by throwing a ton of cash back into the machine. I noticed a drunk, kind of undesirable character playing the $10 Winged Victory machine. When I arrived the hopper was empty and being refilled. He had over 200 credits already in the machine. When the casino employee filled the hopper she did not relock the front of the machine and left. Well, the drunk was too far gone to notice this small detail and could not figure out why the machine kept rejecting his slot card. I found another employee near by and pointed out the open door. They quickly relocked it. What upset me was their response to me for helping, they could care less that I helped them get out of what could have been a bad situation. No thanks, no nothing...next time, no help from me! Anyway, this guy could not win a single strike out of this machine. When I finally left, deciding not to play the tight machine, he was down to 17 credits. I found this to be interesting in contrast to the $40 experience I had.
All in all the trip was strike productive. Most were had at face from cashiers, or coin redemptions, and some for under face directly out of machines. The McCarran machines were pretty loose on concourse C.
Came home with 22 $10 strikes and 2 $40. Not bad for a first timer, and had a blast and highly recommended if you have a couple of spare days with nothing else to do!
