Re: RE: HSP Red Caps
I know both you guys want info and just want to be treated fairly. I am unsure about collecting the plated strikes but will give them a chance. I collect the ones I like now and not just every strike out there so I don't see any reason to change just yet. If and when I get to the point that I just have to have one of everything, then it could be a different story. For the most part, the guys from the Palms and Four Queens have been so amazingly helpful to the club and I hope they continue to be. If the hobby survives and other casinos add machines, then they are largely responsibe along with all the collectors and some good casino managers that can see the big picture and not disect every little thing down to nickels and dimes. I continue to encourage strike collectors to stay at casino properties that promote the hobby. Stay there. Eat there. Play there. AND let the bosses know it in person while in Vegas as well as by follow-up letter to slot managers, casino managers and hotel managers. It only takes a small amout of time to send off a few letters and believe me when I tell you that they KNOW that for every letter they get and every personal contact they receive, that there are dozens of others who don't get around to it but feel that way none-the-less. In the meantime, I can't wait to see the new strikes. I want me a Holloween $200. I want me a Christmas $200. I want, I want, I want. I am sounding like a 5 year old the week before Christmas. And for you gals and guys out there outside of Nevada: ask your local casinos to think about getting back into or starting a strike program. I am hounding the three nearest casinos to me to look into it. They are al looking for a competitive edge right now with the economy looking bad so this could be a GOOD time for them to consider strikes as a way of setting themselves apart. If you go to a casino that used to have strikes but don't now, well take a few with you and show them to the bosses and slot managers. Most of them were not around in 1995 and many have never even seen a strike. Let them know that strikers like to travel far and wide and wouldn't they love to have a couple hundred strike clooectors come to their casino JUST because of the strike machines. AND let them know WE WILL promote their casino and get the word around. Just get them thinkung about it. It will just take a few casinos around the country to get back into the strike business to set off a chain reaction and others will NOT want to be left behind. Let them know the WE KNOW they have to make a profit. THAT is why they are in business. They are not a CHARITY to supply us with strikes. The cisinos FIRST AND FOREMOST, have to profit if we want to have a hobby and we think they CAN PROFIT and PROMOTE THEIR CASINOS all at the SAME TIME. If you are still reading this, then THANKS for reading my long winded post. I HOPE I get a chance to meet some of you blowhards down the road. I think we have something in common. And not just carpel tunnel syndrome from pushing slot buttons and squinty eyes from reading fine print on strikes. randy out
