I used dBase for years to keep track of my chips, strikes, tokens, dice... There were columns for when I got it, who from and original cost, to name a few. Finally I was spending so much time entering things, that I just gave up! Just too much "stuff"
However, I wish I had kept up with some of it.
A checklist would be nice, or since you own your books and can write in them (unlike library books and those of others) I used a highlighter and marked what I had in TCR. Same would work for any of the SPT guides? Just mark what you have with a highlighter. Now you have a record and if you take the book to a show, or look something up that is at auction, you can see right away, what you have and what you don't have.
There is software for collectors, which someone should be able to point you to. I don't use it because of all the time for data entry, but I willing to bet that it would be just what you need, and it even has a place for scans or pictures of each item. Part of the fun is getting out the collection and going through all that you have.
Once entered, all you have to do is keep up. But when I bought a box of 200 assorted chips, or I would go to a show and buy a bunch of chips, I just lost the energy. For strikes it would be better since you don't run into the thousands of them real fast...
