1) Third strike machine has been installed at 4Queens.
-One machine is still in front of main cage.
** note ** - I noticed this machine will take the $10 free play credit (PB) if you are a new member of the slot club or use the $10 free play coupon in the 2008 LVA POV coupon book. Only SS machine that had the "PB" sticker on it.
-Second machine still on the East side of front street/main bar.
-Third machine is on the East side of the sportsbook.
2) Binion's "Stagecoach w/Horses" red caps were all gone from the bank of three SS machines last Friday.
Two machines (only the week before) had "Benny Binion on Horseback" redcaps in them and the third machine had "Stagecoach w/Horses" redcaps in it. Now two machines still have "Benny Binion on Horseback" in them, but have now been spaced faaaar apart with loads of clear caps in between.
I closely checked the third machine and noticed the "Stagecoach w/Horses" red caps have also been removed from the display area on top of the machine. All that is in the machine is clear caps.....Guess that's it folks.
3) Gold Spike renovations are coming along nicely....they raised the ceiling 9 inches and installed a totally new ventilation system (security guard told me that the old system hadn't been cleaned in over 40 years and several inches thick with goo and gunk - so, system HAD to be totally replaced). New carpet, wood flooring, plasma TVs hanging everywhere, new snack bar/Pizza parlor, check in desk. Signs are up that live BJ and Roulette tables are coming soon.
Security guard that walked me around is a silver strike fan and is putting his 2 cents in to management to try and get the machines back.
The employees gathered around me (it was early morning and casino was empty) to excitedly tell me about all the changes....this place is now so bright, airy and clean that you won't even recognize it!
