Kind of interesting how you don't answer questions and ignore when people explain how shill bidding and reserves are completly diferent. But you do manage to pick at the messages and come up with convoluted interpretations of what I and others have NOT written to try to explain the difference.
You are correct, I don't like reserves. I don't bid on reserve auctions. Yes, if everyone did this, the sellers would soon drop using this feature. It's my personal choice.
Reserve auctions only protect the sellers interest in setting a minimum price and harm no one. If someone starts an auction at their minimum, there will often be no bids, because it "starts too high". Also the fees for eBay are based on the starting price.
The Fees Are Based On The Starting Price. (yes I do have to repeat for you) The person listing can save money by starting lower and having a reserve. It's not complicated, illegal or trickery.
Yes, shill bidding is illegal and when it happens at other auctions, by the auction house or the owner of the item, it is a crime. It is prosecutable, under law, if it can be proven.
Ebay doesn't have to prove anything. They can suspect, or have a bad hair day, it's their game and they make the rules. If they want to suspend me for bad spelling, they can. They own the system, they run the show. They don't have to go to a court of law to give a problem user the boot.
There is already a list going around, of names of probable shill bidders for BBMs auctions on eBay. Once again you take what people didn't say, twist it into something else and say we said something else. No one has found instances of BBMs Ex bidding on eBay auctions. Is that simple enough? However there is a list of numerous other accounts that bid only on his auctions, no matter what the items.
Absense of evidence, is not evidence of absense!
