MR. KINGDINOSAUR
I get a real bang out of reading your letters on the message board. Must be nice to have nothing better to do than write stories about your opinions that no one ever asked for. You are not talking to 3 or 4 year olds on here. No one needs you telling them how to collect anything. You are far from an expert.
I here you are selling your "oh so dear" strike collection to become the next Brad Pitt.
I think telling the truth is very important, so lets start off by telling people that strikes are not a part of any history of any casino. Do you really not know that silver strikes have not been around long enough to be a part of history of any casino??
Now lets tell everyone why strike machines are no longer in Atlantic City. They make no money for the casinos. They break down 10x more than any other slot machine. This will be the same reason they will soon be gone from Las Vegas. They make no profit for any casino in Las Vegas.
Casinos are in business to make money not loose money. The average strike machine is played less than 45 minutes a day in any casino in Las Vegas.
The average dime slot machine is played 14 hours a day. Why do you think a few casinos come out with a special strike at the convention? You really think they like the strike collectors? It's the one time a year they make a profit on strike machines, and the only time they make a profit.
Less than 400 strike collectors in this hobby can not and will not be able to keep the strike machines in Las Vegas. It's a business-- no profit, no strike machines.
Don't get mad and write a long story that always takes forever to read, just accept the truth on how a business works. Start collecting chips!! They are here to stay - they have a purpose.
