That was my point Greg. Is Norm kidding?
Anyway, I've never heard of "shill posting" before? I suppose if the volume of messages meant something. It does on Prodigy where every view is tied to a count for advertisers who care how many people come to the page, but it's not by messages posted or message views, just how many people come to that page.
Shills are actually legal in Las Vegas casinos. Honestly! But they are not legal in auctions and are manipulation of the prices. Kind of like price fixing or fraud. In fact it's not kind of like, it is price manipulation and fraud.
Posting under a fake name isn't a crime.
A casino shill would be paid to sit down at a 21 table for instance, when there are no players, that way others will join in, because they will be playing with someone, instead of starting out alone. I actually prefer to play 21 alone, but I might as well be a shill, because the tables fill around me. At least I get to pick my favorite seat.
A carny shill is one who draws others into a game or pretends to buy something so others will be motivated to join in. But a shill is just part of a setup.
