When I'd left town, prior to the new designs being released, I'd noticed one silver strike machine a hundred feet or so before you get to the x-ray/metal detectors for the A and B gates. My guess is that machine will be busy quite often.

If you are planning on flying within a few months you'll have a better chance of just walking up to the machines inside the boarding gate areas. Expect to run across paid lackeys for awhile in the non-ticketed / public access machine.
