James, thanks for the inputs, however...

that overall definition certainly works for items in the past, most of which will not be encountered for the competition. While we all know that for the most part, a Silver Strike means a bi-metal coin (a silver center and brass ring, not withstanding the silver clad and copper ring variations) I am looking for a definition that keeps the competition centered on that type of coin.

When the Program (Silver Strikes) was an IGT marketing effort, it kept the definition of eligibility clean. However, that seems to have changed and I don't think we want standard $1 slot machine tokens (what very few there might be) to be submitted for nomination, nor should certain other tokens or medallions be permitted. But, it is easier to define what is accepted, as opposed to defining what is not.

Also, to clarify, I am asking this in terms of the ccgtcc-based SSOTY Award competition and not the annual competition conducted by the SilverStrikers. While many people are cross-over to both Clubs, the competitions are conducted separately. As the ccgtcc OTY Awards Chairman, I have a responsibility to deliniate to the participants what the qualification criteria is in an effort to provide fairness to the potential nominees and to provide continuity to the ccgtcc OTY Awards program. If this subject (definition) was discussed at the last SilverStrikers meeting, I would be very interested to see the resulting definition.

Thank you again for your inputs.

ccgtcc OTY Awards Chairman
