I can say I have stayed there when Boyd owned it (South Coast) and it is a GREAT hotel and casino. The suites are AWESOME, plasma and LCD tvs everywhere. Great casino, movie theaters, bowling alley, bingo parlor, the works. GREAT CHOICE for the convention.
