Thanks for the nice post.

However, skipping over posts just won't help how a potential NEW member would see things by coming here and NOT knowing WHAT messages to skip. I am looking at this bulletin board as a direct reflection upon how the "SILVER STRIKER'S CHAPTER" looks to anyone new arriving here.

Do we really expect a NEW person who knows nothing about us or our chapter to skip over any of the messages? I know how excited I was when I first found the chippers on Prodigy's Forum back in 1992. I didn't pass up any messages, I just had to read them all.

If we invite a potential NEW friend home and we act like the idiots we have the potential to be, do you believe they'll come back? Same situation is occurring here.

Greg, I am not proposing that people CANNOT sell their wares here. I am just suggesting that it happen in the background off the board.

I don't care how many members do or don't agree with me, or how many non named references that people are currently posting here in support of allowing direct sell messages here. Currently, the board has seen few sell messages here and those have turned into nightmares for the SELLERS and people who have arrived and read the threads that followed.

We're starting to LOOSE VERY IMPORTANT PEOPLE in our hobby who have came here and posted in the past and some of those are removing LINKS to this bulletin board from their web sites.

If removing FOR SALE advertisements and self serving messages to auction links will help bring the board back to a more civil and CHAPTER RESPECTING environment, I am ALL for it.

I wonder why, I've seen so few posts from our Executive board here? I am sure there are messages regarding upcoming events that they could post here. Could it be that they are embarassed to see the current tide of things with regard to this being the OFFICAL Chapter's Bulletin Board?
