OK Lets play that game.
But lets tell the whole story.
Yeah I'm a chip collector. I read this board to stay on top of information regarding Strikes because even though I don't consider myself a striker, I will play the strike machines when I see them, plus I forward information to others who are offline who are interested. Plus very often information posted here is of general interest.
I rarely post here, although I am a frequent poster on the chipboard.
Yesterdays exchange began with a post from RICHARD (actually his post was on Friday) hawking his auctions. I have no problem with him promoting his auctions (but personally I think the way he does it makes him sound like an idiot). There was a response from Becky questioning his reference to 14kt solid gold. I know nothing about gold so I have no opinion on who was correct. However RICHARD responded defending his position (which I have no objection to) but ended with what seeemed to me to be an insulting and condescending statement "stick to danceing [sic]" This struck me as totally inappropriate but I said nothing.
Next Tokeneer entered the discussion and very politely challenged RICHARD's claim to be including a free gift with the auction win. Of course Tokeneer is correct that in an auction format if you announce that a "Free Gift" is included it is not really free since it will influence the bidding. Again I did not enter this discussion . . .
Despite the polite and friendly nature of Tokeneer's post RICAHRD responded like an asshole. He told Tokeneer to "stick a shoe in it." He called him "stupid" and went on a diatribe about speaking slowly so that Tokeneer coulkd understand what free meant (The said part is that Richard still doesn't understand what Tokeneer's point is).
So at this point, I have to admit that I was a little annoyed at RICHARD compounded by similar idiotic statements and abusive comments he has been making in other threads, so I challenged RICHARD's definition of free and questioned is obviously inappropriate use fo the word Rare to describe almost every strike he puts up for auction. Admittedly my post had a slightly sarcastic tone to it, but nothing compared to the abusive nature of RICHARD's post (and of course I have the added bonus of actually being right on the issues). I didn't call him any names in that post.
Did he respond to the actual issue being discussed? No. His response was to refer to me as jealous and crying. He refered to me as "petey" which was intended to be condescending. He decided that this was a personal issue between us.
Since RICHARD wanted to elevate this to a personal issue I simply responded. Sure its not a fair fight. For one thing, unlike Richard I obviously have mastered basic reading comprehension. I am actually capable of operating the CAPS LOCK and shift keys on my keyboard (though I am prone to typos). And unlike Richard my IQ is larger than my shoe size.
No he suggests that both I and another poster who appreciated my post somehow violated the club code of ethics. I have again reviewed the code and see no violation on my part.
To those who don't want to see this on the bulletin board, I apologize. However it is quite clear that my posts were in responsive to abusive posts by RICHARD. It is also clear that whether I post or not, RICHARD will continue to clutter this board with trash.
For those who don't wish to see his trash, check this out
http://www.chipmunkey.com/strikepoint.php its not a finished product yet, but you get the idea.
RICHARD:
I will end it right here. You will never hear me speak of you again . . . On one condition . . . you start treating others with the same respect which you are asking for.
