Most casinos turned the machines in because they were on loan to the casinos from IGT. IGT still has most of the machines in storage. It would be just a matter of the other casinos getting positive feed back from the existing casinos on how the program is performing..... and the big one, that there are no hold ups on getting strikes. I have never talked to Slots Of Fun but I would be willing to bet that the reason the games are no longer on the floor is because they went black once or twice. Believe me, thats all it takes is one blacked out machine in a casino (of that size, where space is limited) and the questions start-a-coming. I would be willing to bet if the strikes were always availible, those games would still be on the floor. I got lucky here twice.......the first was the Statue of Liberty, I was out of strikes and two machines were dark for a couple hours. Thats the reason why I released the Statue without the full 150 order in hand. Releasing early saved me all the questions from the VP/General Manager. Now on the flip side, ALL Vegas gaming is down in record %'s. At this point there are very few properties buying any machines, and if they are........ the directors have to jump through hoops inorder to get the contracts signed. The last game I bought was a fight.....So with that being said, I believe that in this order:
1. The mint has to approve what we put on the table and decide on a dollar amount.
2. Gaming has to approve it.
3. Service from the mint has to get better.
4. Someone needs to sell the idea to the casinos again(with hard #s not just a sales pitch).
5. The Vegas economy needs to get a bit better in order for the casinos to start spending on machines again.
then maybe we'll see 15 casinos with strike machines once again.
