Actually the letter written was received from Gaming in October 1996.
The result happened soon because it affected NEW orders of the same token as shown on Marv Weaver's web site. I am not sure but isn't this the only token in 1996 that received the new requirement? (I don't remember, maybe there were new issues received later in 1996 that had the change.)
The center insert of this 1st Anniversary received quite a redesign. Noting that the words "Resort - Casino - Reno" were placed elsewhere on the new token. "RESORT CASINO" was placed on the brass ring where the ".999 FINE SILVER" was and "RENO, NEVADA" was placed with the word NEVADA from the original.
I wouldn't worry too much about "999 FINE SILVER" inscriptions on the $200's if they come with the usual certificate's noting the content. We all remember that the early Hard Rock silver strikes did not bear any inscription that they were silver.
