I’m one of those 90’s collectors and I agree with you that if you want silver, buy the bullion. It’s cheaper than strikes and much less maintained. I guess I’m one of those in the minority who started collecting the coin and the design and not for the silver content.
Bye the way, there wasn’t much else out except the Train, Panner, Pony Express, Stagecoach and the “BOOT”. LOL
It’s amazing to me how many silver strike collectors became silver collectors when it hit eighteen bucks an ounce. Now I’ve spent close to 4k for one strike and it wasn’t for the silver in it along with several thousand for assorted other ones. That’s called being a collector.
I will plod along collecting what is put in the ten dollar machines in hope that the silver content will return but none the less still collect what’s out because I am a collector of strikes.
As a side commit, I don’t believe that John Q . Public will stop playing for them if the content is changed. 99% of them don’t have a clue what a silver strike is let alone the silver content in them.
