Greetings all! I'm Wilson Gee and I have been seriously collecting chips and strikes for about a year now. I've been lurking here and on the Chip Board for a while and finally decided to introduce myself.
I built the bulk of my collection off of Jackpot Auctions and especially from good ol' Norm Clem. He has always been good to me and I appreciate his help (I think) in getting me into Strikes.
The first real striker I met was Ray Moritz, who frequents the local chip meetings here in Kansas City. He's a super nice guy who has been very helpful with my Strike collection.
June was my first CC>CC convention as well as my first trip to Vegas. I had a great time and met a lot of nice people, but none nicer than Brian & Joyce Bishop. My friend Ron and I met the Bishops while waiting in line for our CC>CC Registration packets. After about only an hour talking to them, they offered to take us with them on a CC>CC Chip run. We had a great time and not only got all the available CC>CC chips (including a trek out to the Fiesta), but a ton of chips from all the casinos we stopped at. After the trip around town, they refused to accept payment. All I can say is if the Bishops are any indication of the kind of people in the club, how could I not join? I signed up with the Silver Strikers chapter on the last day of the convention and received my membership packet just recently. I'm glad to be part of your collective and reading your posts!
