What still puzzles me is why the mints don't charge the actual cost to the casinos, and the casinos just adjust the payout to ensure they cover the costs plus still make their profit. My understanding is the mint has some kind of arrangement where they are stuck eating the loss and have to sell strikes to casinos for some contracted amount that is less than the actual cost. So the mints are dictating the HSP to cut their costs. If the casinos ponied up the actual cost, the CASINOS can order what they want, and keep strikes the same.
I know casinos know what they are doing when it comes to making profit, but it sure seems like the strike program is a$$ backwards...how can the supplier be dictating terms to the CUSTOMER? How is it the mints go to gaming and not the casinos? I don't blame the mints for wanting out, it's extra work and they are losing money. Thanks a bunch to IGT....
What are they going to do about the signage on the Silver Strike machines? Change them to HSP Strike machines? It would be misleading to call them silver souvenir tokens any further...
Dave.
