Kirk, as Jim mentioned. The staff sergeant patches of which you have two in your scan are upside down. Those are the patches with the crossed rifles. The two others you have the are just stripes also would be off different uniforms. The gold/red off dress blues and the red/green off the every day uniform. These are called hash marks. Each stripe denotes 4 years of service. One is for 12 years and the other is for doing 16 years of service.
