I tried looking through some Franklin Mint books I have but there were quite a few different casino tokens made and of several metals. You need to carefully look at the edge of a couple of tokens from each set and there will be "HALLMARK" markings that wil indicate the metal, mint etc. If they are sterling they could be "proof" or regular uncirculated issue. The proof of course being more valuable. Try to only handle them with a plastic glove on unless they have been handled before by bare hands and then the "proof" part will have little meaning. ANYWAY, report back the markings and I can tell you more about them. 17 ounces of silver may be in regular or troy ounces. Probably regular ounces which would translate to 15.3 troy ounces which at todays $17.50 spot silver price would be worth about $215 scrap value at the best place I know to scrap silver. If they are .999 silver then they would be worth more but most Franklin Mint stuff is sterling. The hallmarks will tell the purity. Also hopefully the set will be worth more as a whole collection but don't count on it. By far, most Franklin Mint stuff is only worth it's scrap value, but you could get lucky. The $359 set being offered on eBay right now has not sold so it is probably priced too high or else someone would have snapped it up by now. Anyway, I can tell you more after you find the hallmarks. You can email me personally or go through this post, whatever makes you comfortable. I suggest you not sell them till you know more about them. Ebay is a pretty good place to sell. The fees kind of hurt so yopu could always try Jackpot auctions first if you have the time and a set price you want for them. Of course right here is a good place too if you have a set price. But eBay will be better if you want to open it up to the highest bidder but understand that they will probable sell for somewhere around scrap price including shipping.
