I disagee. If Richard left ebay market prices would return to a reasonable rate. Less strikes for sale? To be sure. Until recently Richard has listed the very common and the very rare.
The rare will bring high prices at any time.
The common stikes will not especially since many ebay users refrain from Richard's auctions if for no other reason than his attitude. The auctions struggle for face value. Also the question of shill bidding has many ebay buyers hesitant regardless of price.
