Sarge, Everyone uses a different method and guide book. For some, the year of issue isn't needed to distinguish between strikes. A howdys # is useless to many, and helpful to others. The best way to describe a strike is to list front, back, mintmark, variety (if applicable), and notation that the .999 is on the rim or inside. Those few things can identify any strike.
