I watched the auction that Brian Kinard called to all of our attention and see that it ended without a successful buyer. As was once said to me - GREED KILLS!
The entire 'fishy' episode should be called to the attention of eBay for several reasons:
1. copying and using Brian's description and scan without permission is rude and, I believe, against their policies.
2. copying and using copyrighted material is not only against eBay policy but illegal.
3. shill bidding definately appears to be the case here and eBay cancels the accounts of all involved if it is substantiated.
All in all it proves this community is too smart to fall for an inflated price. I have listed and sold several of my duplicate $10 strikes on eBay (eBay ID gamichel), starting all at $9.99 and averaged ~$12 per sale - I assumed this was fair to all and that the market had set the value. When I offered 15 one dollar slot tokens for $12 and had no takers I just took them to the casino and played them.
