Hi Pete, Anything's possible as I don't have specific information on specific machines. I was simply giving a "techncal" view of "frosted" vs. "unfrosted"! However what we find in strike machines has often times been re-circulated. Here is some further info into the "frosted" story. "Porous" metals (and Silver is moderately porous) will give off a more "frosted" appearance than will heavier (denser) metals such as Gold or Lead. Especially so when the stamping dies have not been highly polished. Take a look at "proof" coins. These are not only highly polished with super-fine polishing grit after being "struck" but the dies themselves are polished to the highest degree. Enjoy the hobby................Dick
