We have hummingbirds at our house too. I knew they were back for the summer when I walked outside the other day and the lil' critters dive-bombed me (and hovered in my face as if to say "Hi, we're back!") until I hung up their nectar feeder ... which I did immediately!
But I've never been lucky enough to be that close to a baby-hummer...lucky you!
