GOLD, SILVER & BRONZE
When I was 16 years old I became facinated with the Frnklin Mint medals. I couldn't afford silver but could buy the bronze version. I stil have them and love the artwork, skill and quallity. Later I mover on to silver. The same with U.S. Mint items. as a kid I collected lincoln pennies and as I got older moved up to silver and gold as my financial situation grew. The U.S. Mint still makes the president medals in bronze and silver and of course they make bullion coins in silver, gold and platinum. A metal for all budgets. My point is maybe that can be used in the business of Silver Strike machines and collecting. What is each strike came in a bronze AND a silver version? Have them all min the machine at random with a $20 value on silver and maybe a couple bucks on bronze. Trade them in for a big silver one or a big bronze one. starters could cash in the silver and collect the bronze. Maybe even have GOLD PLATED strikes. Don't automatically poo poo the idea. The gold plate could be OVER STERLING SILVER like the Franklin Mint does and appeal to a whole different collector. Some people love the glint of GOLD. JUST LIKE THE OLYMPIC MEDAL, bronze, silver and GOLD. You know the Olympic Gold Medal is just PLATED over silver. Just an idea that could be studied and maybe breath new life into a dying hobby. Imagine the thrill of winning a strike and the anticaipation of is it going to be bronze, silver or GOLD. Ic could easily lower the overall strike cost by mixing in the cheaper bronze with the others. How about your thoughts. It sure worked for the Franklin Mint and the U.S.A.
