I respectfully disagree.
Silver is what makes the Silver Strike a collectible in my opinion.
Silver has a long history in Nevada and is even used as an example of worth in the New Testament with Judas and the Silver coins that he received as payment for his betrayal.

A silver clad token is no more a silver strike than a HGE plated $40 Silver Strike is a Gold strike.

One reason that people collect Silver Strikes is the Value of the strike.

A clad token 50 years after the casino closes is not going to be worth much more than an old $1.00 slot token. I might be interested in collecting clad tokens but not at a $10 face value. $2 or $3 is the most that I would think that they are worth. That would require a whole new chip set for the machine and the casinos want to get away from tokens all together. I think that you would lose more collectors with a clad token than would be priced out of collecting with a higher value strike.
