Report from fly-over country
I attended a regional coin show today, displaying dealers from Oklahoma and Texas. I have purchased strikes from many/most of them at prior shows. There were no strikes for sale, zip, nada (this was a first for me at this particular show). The dealers said that in more cases than not they were buying the centers (from walk-ins) or they themselves were detaching the centers and sending to the recyclers. Most coins dealers don't like to spend much effort on strikes, the recycling route is the path of least resistance. With the continued devalued dollar and South American style inflation rapidly approaching, more and more of our beautiful strikes are going to melt. Best of luck to all you Strikers..
