Re: SS Machine at Fremont Gone sad

Silver Strikes have been through many changes during these last years. Strikes have changed in values starting with a $2.00 strike, $7.00, $20.00, $28.00, $40.00 and of course the big baby of them all the $200.00. Then there is the true commemorative token made of silver from tournaments or like Sierra Sid's silver that were orginally sold in their gift area. Riveria had their holograms and some commerative silver tokens. Strike machines have changed and different manufactures of the strike machines.
Can 4 casinos with strike machines keep the hobby alive? Yes I believe they can. The Four Queens, Slots A Fun, Palms, and Sam's Town have kept me busy playing for strikes this last year and my budget high for striking in full force.
These four casinos have been running a good strike program and all have plans to continue with the strike program. The Four Queens silver strike tournament was a great success, many strikes to play for and a new record of participates in the tournament. Slots A Fun had a new $200, Palms with their new Playboy series, and Sam's Town had two of their new series. January was a good positive showing that silver strikes will continue. Plus lets not forget the plans for the future of striking.
Sam's Town just came out with another two strikes of their new series this month, Four Queens has in the works a new $200, Slots A Fun was just approved for new strikes and Palms had another version of their Playboy $200 plus hopes of many news strikes to come in the future.
All four casinos have been pretty constant in creating plenty of new strikes these last years to play for. There is also a good chance that Binnions will be next on the silver strike list, already there is hope for the future.
The price of silver is going to have a great effect on silver strikes, maybe a change in the strike, silver content, value, so many things have been discussed. They could always just leave well enough alone and ride out this rough time.
After checking this month's approval list I noticed that chips aren't coming out in great numbers either. In the past there was usually a good two pages full of strikes and chips, check January and February 2008, both months the list was short.
Think POSITIVE, change can be good, lets keep a good attitude, enjoy our hobby, speak positive about the future and continue to support the casinos that support strikes. We have a great foundation to build from.
