Re: SS Machine at Fremont Gone sad

Tough question Neal. When regularly issued gaming tokens were replaced not too long ago with TITO (Ticket In Ticket Out) ... interest in collecting gaming tokens waned significantly and many token collections were simply cashed in (or played) before redemption notices expired. With silver strikes ... the machines simply disappear with no advance notice. Got to be a huge turn-off for potential new silver strike collectors.

In Atlantic City for example ... there were only three Limited Edition chips issued in all of the year 2007 ... and NONE have been issued to date in 2008. Lack of a steady source stream of new material to maintain collector interest sometimes has an effect on some folks to seek out other more active areas of collecting. i don't think that anybody really knows how this will all play out in the end with individual silver strikers.
