archie--with all due respect, my point was that it is not feasable or practical to melt down ss. And if they were melted down in quantity w/ silver above $20 it would make the remaining strikes in circulation more valuable-----supply and demand, An ongoing coordinted effort should be made by the leaders of the club to demonstrate to the casinos it is in their best interest to keep machines and strikes in action.
I hope the club will update us on the action they are taking. I, along w/ others have volunteered to write letters or volunteer their time to do what is neccesary. I am a lone collector of ss like yourself and consider many of the ss coins to be mini works of art.
