Here's the response I received from my letter to Mr. Santos:

Michael,

Thank you for your email. Though the tournament was cancelled because
we were unable to fulfill the event as advertised. Please know that the
tournament only was cancelled. Your room reservation, should you elect
to use it, will be honored at the casino rate of $55 during the time
period of June 2 through 4. We would love to have you visit us and we
are apologetic that we were unable to have the event.

Michael, we hope that the reduced room rate and the refund of your
entry fee will give you the opportunity to win many silver strikes while
you are in Las Vegas.
