Rick, whatever you guys do at the Plaza, please don't EVER have a condition for playing for ANY strike like the convention strikes last year.
Because of a mis-understanding on my part last year about the kind of "ticket" that was required to play the machine for the special strikes, I tried to play at 6 AM the second day using the ticket I used to get into the convention. Needless to say it wasn't the right one. The slot personnel in charge of the special machine were nice enough but I was still required to get your or your assistant's OK. Well, I waited for 5 1/2 hours for you guys to show up in vain.
The convention didn't open up until 10AM but I wasn't about to go there and back again just to play as I was anxious to start my trip home in LA.
Anyway, I was so disgusted with the whole mess, I never did play for the $200 strike or the other strikes I wanted, nor did I buy the two sets of the old Plaza strikes I planned on getting.
I figure I saved $700-800 not acquiring any of the Plaza's strikes. Needless to say, I've never been back since...and this is from someone who had stayed at the Plaza the last three conventions.
