A couple points here :
First I believe we are down to 6 casino's in Las Vegas with Strike machines. This is very sad, as we all love playing those machines ( sometimes we don't even need the strikes ) , but Without machines to win new strikes I believe collecting , in time will die. If we have them all ( current and past strikes ) , and no machines to attract new collectors (and current collectors ), values will drop and strikes might become worth only the silver value at the time, no matter how low the mintage of a single strike might be. If the future is higher dollar strikes ( $20 and $40 ) so be it, with that I bet they will be harder to win, but some how our message to casino's needs to be positive ( profitable to them ) .....I'm sure they really don't care about 1000 or so silver strike collectors if having machines does not make money for them. They are a business just like a 7-11, Home Depot, or whatever...if a item doesn't perform it gets pulled from the shelf.
Second, if the Four Queens has come up with a way to make the program work for them, keeping there machines, giving us something to play for, WOW, we should do all we can to encourage other casino's to follow there lead. So what if they leave the same old $10 strikes in the machine for 1, 2 , 3 years, but keep inserting new red caps 3-4 times a year, at least we have something to play for.
If they go to $20 or $40 strikes, lets remember thats the same as 80 or 160 credits in a 25 cent machine....How many times do you win those credits in any other 25 cent machine ? These machines are all about pay back, 98 %, 95 % , 92 %, whatever, right now if you get say double bars across for 40 credits , thats the same as winning a strike. Now, most of us would rather have the $10 strike but I'm sure as far as that machine goes its the same.
6 Machines in Vegas, maybe 3 or 4 in Northern Nevada, How long will these last ?
This is our message board, we see people selling strikes ( I've done that ) , we get a little info on new strikes or things that are happening, we get people playing e-bay police and way too much bickering ( that should be done in private , like thru e-mail) , where are our club officers ?
I don't know any of them, past or present, but it seems except Pam Martin , no one ever specks ( post's on this board ) ???? So what is going on, what can we do to help ? David specks of the presidents message , what message ? I'm sorry I did not see it ....
Seems like the only new news we get anymore is that another casino has pulled their machine. Pretty soon we won't get that, as there will be none left to pull.....
I'm Like most of you I bet, Plan a trip to Vegas / or Reno/Tahoe and map out a plan to hit all the casino's with strike machines, In the Future I want to continue to do that, .....not figure out what beach I'm going to hang out on in Hawaii ( sorry Dave , nothing against Hawaii ), or try to figure out who is charging to much for shipping on E-Bay......
