Patrick - What makes you think the person got your EBAY I.D from this board ? Maybe the person found it on ebay when checking the bidders list on an auction. I myself don't use my ebay bidder I.D anywhere but on ebay and don't think many others do either.
At least you didn't get burned and as you are aware the real offer would be in your my ebay .
