I applaud your effort and intent. But I do not want anyone inadvertently mislead.

The purpose of this search is to acquire the 1998 TOTY winning Golden Gate $10 Golden Gate Bridge Silver Strike to fill-in the last remaining hole of the CC & GTCC's effort to acquire ALL past and future COTY, TOTY and SSOTY Award winners.

Richard's post states that it is the Silver Striker's Chapter that is looking for the strike, when in actuality it is the CC & GTCC that is looking.

I doubt that this deminishes the significance of this effort and I for one truely appreciate Richard's involvement.

Since I have your attention, I would also like to take this opportunity to announce that the CC & GTCC will be submitting the COTY, TOTY and SSOTY Permanent Display Project as an Exhibit at the upcoming ANA Convention. As it turns out, member chapters of ANA (which the CC & GTCC is) are permitted to submit Exhibits, HOWEVER, the displayed items must be owned by the organization. Although I have an "on-loan" example of the Golden Gate strike (for the Display during our Convention), we must acquire a Club owned strike before the Convention (July/August, New York City).

Although this posting is rather long, I want to provide some perspective. Additional ANA/Exhibit information will be posted to the CC & GTCC BBS shortly.
