I believe that very few small sellers of scrap silver "walk into a silver refinery" Glen. I was thinking more about a seller walking into a local coin store or a jewelry store or any other similar merchant who is offering to buy gold, silver, etc. trying to sell his/her $10 silver strikes for scrap silver. The merchant would simply determine the fineness, weigh the centers, offer his current buy price for that particular finess, and if accepted dump the silver into a scrap receptacle and ship them off to another step in the process, probably the refiner.
