First the strike is described as being a half pound. Then you say it is 6.6 ounces of silver. Half a pound is 8 ounces and half a troy pound is 6 ounces. Where does the 6.6 come from? Was the half pound reference approximated?
Then Skip says $14.50 times 8 = $115. Okay, it's actually $116, but who's counting.
Finally, onemadlush says "monex says silver closed at 14.49 today scrap is worth $94.18 collectors value ????" but 6.6 X $14.49 = $95.63, not $94.18, and 6.6 is neither half of a pound nor half of a troy pound! And since silver is quoted in troy ounces, half a troy pound would be 6 x $14.49 = $86.94.
Somebody please explain.
Thanks.
