We arrived in Reno about 3:00 last Wednesday for a week of gambling and Silver Strike playing. We grabbed our luggage and headed over to the silver strike machine to play for an hour before we checked in by 5:00. We got a few strikes and made plans to come back out on Thursday to play the machine again.
We got out there about noon only to find the machine was shut down. I went over and asked the attendants if this was the only SS machine or were there some more open. They told me that the machines were all out of strikes and they were waiting for another order. When that came in and was gone the machines were being pulled out. I asked if we could play for the remaining strikes in the machine as there were a few left in each row. They said no, the machines are turned out and staying that way till the order came in a week or two.
We went back out on Tuesday a couple hours early before we departed for home hoping maybe the machines were filled back up. When we got there the machine was still off and the strikes were still in there. We decided to eat, head to our gate and play some machines there for a couple hours.
After we ate we went back pass the SS machine on our way to the gate and found a person playing the machine. I went up and asked the attendant there if all the machines were back up. She said no, the boss told her that when this guy showed up she was to turn the machine on and let him play for the remaining strikes. I asked if I could play for any he didn't win if any were left. She said her boss told her only this guy could play and when he was done the machine went off till the new order came back in. I said this was unfair as I asked several times to play for what was left and even pay for them during the week I was there. She said she had her orders and did what she was told because she didn't want to be fired.
To me, this is just plain unfair and not right. I get 1 week to go to Reno to play for strikes and then this happens. If this happened to you, what would you have done? Just walked away like me or are there other actions I could have taken to get the opportunity to obtain play. I am still pretty bitter about this situation because I do love my strikes and having a chance to win some on the machine. I could just pay the street price for them but playing for them is half the fun.
