Re: Jim n Cindy, one of you has a nice name.....

Welcome...you bring back so many memories of starting out that I thought I would respond. I did just that, went from casino to casino, winning as many as possible, keeping dupes and trading at the cage when I could. In those days there were no catalogs so I traveled Nevada popping into all the little towns and casinos with my little strike in hand asking if they had these souvenir coins. Got some pretty funny answers.

I would, at this time, suggest that you specialize...perhaps Nevada only, or newer strikes only or $10 strikes only, to give yourself focus. By dollar averaging strikes can cost from $13 to about $18 each, as eBay kind of indicates, but you sometimes get a run on a machine and the best I ever did was 17 strikes on a $20 bill. It does not happen often, but when it does it is a thrill.

Joining the Silver Strikers and the CC & GTCC is a must, as you have done and lastly I would suggest that you try to get to the Convention, if not this year, definitely next year. It will energize your enthusiasm and you will personally meet some terrific people, while you shop around for what you want and can afford. And if you do come, bring half the clothes and three times the money...good luck...Peter
