Just an opinion, but if the scan shows smudges that aren't even there, it may be worth it to take a new picture so the buyers can see that the smudges aren't there. Not everyone on eBay knows you and you might get more bidders with a clean picture. Like the saying goes, a picture is worth a thousand words...in this case maybe a hundred bucks...
