Re: Ebay and Pay Pal problems
In Response To: Ebay and Pay Pal problems ()

Did you forget to uncheck the paypal box in "payments types accepted"? I have seen many auctions, and in the top part where it shows payment accepted, it says PayPal, money order, etc. but then in the description, it says no PayPal. In these cases the seller forgot to uncheck the PayPal box (it's automatically checked, you have to UN check it). I think if that's the scenario, you would lose. If you clearly unchecked the PayPal box, and your auction doesn't show PayPal at the top, and your description says no PayPal, I find it hard to see how eBay or PayPal could force you to take it. What if you didn't even have a PayPal account? Who would they pay?

I think one way to prevent this is in your eBay set up, don't link to your PayPal account. That way in checkout, no one can know who to send payment to. I won an auction that said money order only, and when I went to checkout via eBay, it gave me the option of paying via PayPal. I thought it was odd since the buyer didn't take PayPal, but unlike your scenario, I paid with money order as the auction stated.

I have had nothing but HORRIBLE experiences ANY time contacting ANYONE at eBay. I don't think there is anyone there that gives a rip about anything. That whole company is based on getting as many fees out of everyone as they can. The problem is they have such a HUGE customer base you have to put up with it if you want access to those millions of users.
