Hi Dan - An interesting (in both a good and strange way) website that discusses casino changes is the Las Vegas Casino Death Watch page. They mentioned the possibility of the Gold Spike becoming a "chic, boutique hotel" last week, so after reading your message it appears the deal went through. Hopefully they'll find a place for the strike machine, and maybe a new design. I guess we'll have to keep our fingers crossed.

Why would anyone want to change the Gold Spike? As they said at that website, "the (potential) new owners say, "Our specialty is taking crack houses and turning them into four-star boutique hotels." I wouldn't say the GS was THAT bad, but it could use a little work
