If anyone wants to know who I am, come to the SS tournament. I'll be wearing a sweatshirt (well, maybe a t-shirt since it'll be hot) with a #1 on it. I'll be passing it on to the one who knocks me off my throne...sweat and all!!
I don't like the word alias..I prefer nickname. Alias sounds like you're trying to hide and nicknames in some cases are a persons "real" name. I've used a nickname my whole life because it makes it feel like one is part of a comfy group. Not like some elitist group that chastises you if you don't always use your first and last name. In the beginning it's ok, but let people use at least just their first name later on. I don't know about others but I feel good when I see others posting with just a single name. It kind of makes you feel like that person is acknowedging he/she is a friend.
I hope this board doesn't turn like the chip board where the posters will ignore you if you don't use your full name...even if the name you are using is known by everyone.
So I say let anyone use whatever name they want as long as they aren't trying to hide anything. Think about it, what good does it do to post your real name if no one knows you anyway...to them it's just another "alias".
I'd like all to use their eBay names, then I'd have a better feel who I was dealing with. If fact I've suggested to some of the SS leadership that I'd like our name tags at all the SS functions to have both our real names AND our eBay names on them (or alias). THEN we'll be able to put faces and names together...so Mary Lou, do you think that would be a feasible thing to do from now on?
