In answer to your question--- about 2 to 2 1/2 years ago. The Nevada Gaming Commission started enforcing a rule of theirs. That says a silver strike can not be numbered. Since then NO silver strikes are numbered any more. That's why you could not find a serial number on your Fremont strike. Also that's why a special silver coin is given to the players. (Instead of a silver strike, since the NGC ruling.) At the last several silver strike slot tournments. These are allowed to be numbered by the NGC.
As for the Fremont red cap. The Fremont has in the past put OLDER ISSUE silver strikes in RED CAPS. I donot know but I feel, there is a high possiballity. That this Red Cap had 1 of the older issue strikes in it. Nobody will find out till it's won time.
