Let me start by saying I agree with you! But, in my opinion, from a casino point of view, someone staying at the hotel and playing $$$ on craps or blackjack would be a better customer than someone staying there for silver striking. 2000 people coming to Vegas 2-3 times a year and concentrating on striking does not make the casino money. Yes, lots of people play the strike machines but not as long as other slot machines or table games in the long run. I've just started collecting again and would love to see the machines stay, but from a business decision, unless you put a bank of say 10 machines in, not have them pay out so often, etc. the profit may not be in line with other slot machines. When I go to Vegas for strike hunting, it doesn't matter where I stay as I make the rounds. Also, if I am there to try and make some money or take a long time spending the money I brought with, I'll sit at a black jack table. So while striking is advertisement, I do not base where I stay or play based on which hotel has a strike machine. I think there-in-lies the problem. The strike machine itself is not a magnet to get people into the hotel for a long time. Dan SS1045
