Dan - I agree that strikes are a great advertisement for a casino. What are the words that come out of our mouths when we return home and show someone a strike? "I won this at the Palms" (or another casino that has silver strikes). "Won" and the casino name associated together are exactly what casinos want people to think. I've never pulled out a $10 bill and said "I got this at the Flamingo". It seems like we talk about cash wins in general terms but strikes we show are tied to the casino.

A perfect example of this was during my last trip to Las Vegas about six weeks ago. While playing a machine at Mandalay Bay, a girl from Canada came up and we discussed strikes. When she returned home with her friends, they were going to have a Las Vegas themed party for other friends that didn't make the trip. She thought the strikes would make a fantastic prize. I let her take over on the machine and I hope she won a lot of strikes. Everyone at the party will know exactly where those prizes came from (and they'll easily survive the trip back to Canada, which is a lot more than can be said for those drink glasses from Paris).
